I want to check voltage to a hot tub motor. There is a white, a red, a black, and a green going to the motor. ?

I think that I should get 120 volts if I probe white to black or white to red. Should I get 240v if I probe red to black? I know green is a ground. Also, are there any wires that I should not probe together with my volt meter?
