What is all that stuff flying around in the SOHO images of the Sun?

The points of light which move steadily from left to right are background stars. Bright points which move at a different speed are planets. Often these have spikes caused by binning in SOHO's detectors. Fuzzy moving objects are comets; did you know that hundreds of comets have been discovered on SOHO images? Individual sparks of light are cosmic ray hits on SOHO's detectors.
